2011 is a landmark year for Snetterton, as the Norfolk circuit celebrates both its 60th anniversary and the commencing of a new era following a multi-million pound redevelopment project.
Created from a network of US Air Force runways in 1951, Snetterton's sweeping corners and enormous straights have provided sensational full-throttle action for six decades. In 2011, spectators can enjoy even more enthralling race action following the launch of a new multi-configuration circuit layout designed by MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer.
Drawing inspiration from iconic motorsport corners such as Monza's Parabolica and the Montreal Hairpin, four leading British championships will race on the longest layout, the 300, in 2011. Snetterton will host a double headline meeting from the British F3 and GT Championships in May, followed by the British Superbike Championship in July. The British Touring Car Championship will also make its 300 circuit debut in August.
There will be a packed club racing programme too, kicking off with the MSVR Season Starter - the first event to take place on the 300 configuration - in March. Other unique events include a celebration of British sportscar prowess at the Lotus Festival, the Citroen 2CV 24 hour race and a brand new 12 hour Ma5da 'into the night' race.
In addition to racing, Snetterton is a popular test track and has been used to develop a host of vehicles including the Williams F1-designed Formula Two car and various Le Mans machinery.
